A J'naii pilot, part of a team that worked with the Enterprise-D crew to rescue a missing J'naii shuttle in 2368. During the rescue operation, Soren became romantically involved with Commander William RIker, thereby exhibiting female sexual behavior. Such gender-specific orientation was considered abhorrent to the J'naii culture, and Soren was subsequently arrested. Soren was subjected to psychotectic therapy, causing one to conform to the culturally acceptable androgynous norm. ("The Outcast")
